		<description>I still haven&#039;t seen this movie, but would like to.  I think this is a valuable warning to put with it.

I&#039;m glad Clarendon is hosting this vigil and bringing attention to this issue.  I think your point about Jesus being the ultimate healer is so right!  Why do we have such a hard time remembering this?  This vigil seems like a good time for dwelling on that truth.</description>

We in more evangelical circles have missed out on focusing more deeply on the resurrection which is our the foundation of our hope as believers in and disciples of Christ (I Peter 1:3).  Our redemption is through Christ&#039;s death on the cross; our power is through His resurrection.  Spending several weeks after Easter Sunday thinking more intently about that subject could be very helpful in the lives of those of us who claim to be Christ&#039;s followers.</description>

		<description>This morning Philippians 4:8 (Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. ) has challenged me to be more diligent in pursuing righteousness. It is easy for me to think that my thought life isn’t important, that there is no harm in allowing my mind to wonder in almost any direction. This verse has inspired me to renew my effort to be disciplined in my thought-life and to continually bring my attention back to good and pure things. Hopefully, I’ll be able to do this for the rest of Lent.</description>

		<description>this morning i read Luke 6:35-38 and found it quite tough. What do I do with the issues I have with people? I know that they are not my enemies, but they feel like my enemies at the moment. And does loving them mean not confronting them? What about all the resentment I feel? Lent is hard.</description>

		<description>Although I did not grow up practicing Lent, when I was in Boston we were challenged to pray for two specific things, one for ourselves and one for a friend. In addition to this addition to daily prayer, I am also giving up the opportunity to check out every morning when I read my Psalms. Now, I have to keep reading until I find at least three verses really worth memorizing that day and write one of them down. I keep the index card on my desk so that I look at it often throughout the day and have a chance at actually memorizing it.</description>

		<description>My problem with lent is that when I give something up, I tend to find something else to replace it that isn&#039;t God.  For example, last year I gave up drinking everything but water.  I would drink soda / tea / energy drinks practically every day. My thinking was that if I made such a broad move I wouldn&#039;t be able to replace it with something else.

During lent I found myself going toward cookies. In particular, chocolate chip cookies from Wegmans.

This year I will try again. My goal is to fast for a week with only having water and a daily multi-vitamen so I don&#039;t do any serious damage to anything.  I doubt I will be able to pull it off but I think that&#039;s good. That means I will need to rely on God to do it and not some cookies.</description>
